We would like to share the culmination of a dream 56 years in the making with all of you who could not be there to celebrate in person!
Our celebration weekend kicked off with a Major Donors Dinner, held in the house on Friday, March 24, 2017. Sisters gathered to get a sneak peek of Delta Upsilon's new home and to join in fellowship.
Saturday, March 25, 2017 began with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The weather held off and, with minimal rain, we officially dedicated the new home! Many sisters and friends were present, as well as several UTM officials such as Dr. Keith Carver (Chancellor) and Mr. Charley Deal (Associate Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving).
Founder's Day was held in the UC Ballroom and attended by many. Sisters spoke of our history, shared in a meal, and received awards for service to our chapter. We also revealed the next step in our fundraising efforts (stay tuned for more information).
Jewel Degree was conducted in the house and was attended by more sisters than in Delta Upsilon's 56 year history!
The events of the weekend ended with a dinner in downtown Martin. Alumnae from all decades joined together for a meal and fun!
A special thank you to Catherine Nailing and her amazing team. They planned and executed an entire weekend of events for all to enjoy. Many thanks to the active chapter members for their time and energy in making sure everything was perfect and everyone felt welcome. Our gratitude is also shared with many family members, friends, and businesses who graciously supported this effort. Special recognition is also extended to the many alumnae, who came from near and far to celebrate in this occasion! Without their love for our sisterhood and their gifts to Delta Upsilon, this would not have been possible!
